Guandan Privacy Policy

Effective 4 October 2026 Last updated 5 October 2026

The short version. When you play single-player, the game can upload an anonymous record of each deal (the cards dealt and the moves played) so we can make the AI opponents play more like people. It never sends your Steam account, name or friends. It is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous match data (中文:设置 → 上传匿名对局记录).

1. Who is responsible

SunnyOrange LLC, publishing as 237 Studio, is the controller of the data described here. Questions and requests go to [email protected]. This page covers the game Guandan (掼蛋搭子) on Steam. The website has its own privacy policy.

2. What the game sends

After each single-player deal, if the setting is on, the game uploads one record containing:

  • the cards each of the four seats was dealt, the level being played and the deal number;
  • every move made in that deal and how many milliseconds into the deal it was made;
  • which seats were you and which were AI, and the AI difficulty;
  • the result of the deal;
  • the game version and your system language (for example “zh” or “en”);
  • a random device identifier created by the game on first launch. It is not derived from your hardware or your Steam account; deleting the game’s save folder creates a new one.

It does not send your Steam ID, Steam name, friends list, chat, achievements, save files, or anything else on your computer.

Online games are never uploaded, because the other players at the table have not made this choice.

3. Why

To train and test the AI opponents so they play more like real people, and to see where players struggle so we can tune difficulty and fix confusing parts of the game. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share it in the sense the California Consumer Privacy Act gives those words.

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the game, balanced by the fact that the data is pseudonymous and you can switch it off at any time.

4. Turning it off

Open Settings and switch off Share anonymous match data (设置 → 上传匿名对局记录; Русский: Анонимные данные матчей). Records that were waiting on your computer and had not been sent yet are deleted, and nothing further is uploaded.

5. Where it goes and how long it is kept

Records are received by a Cloudflare Worker and stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. When you upload, Cloudflare necessarily sees your IP address to deliver the request; we do not store IP addresses with the records (only a two-letter country code derived from it). SunnyOrange LLC is in California, United States, so your data may be processed in the United States.

We keep records for as long as they are useful for improving the game, and at most five years. Anything we publish or share from them (for example research results) is aggregated and cannot be linked to a device.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, delete or object to the processing of your data. Because records are tied only to a random device identifier, we need that identifier to find yours: it is the 32-character text in the file telemetry/device_id inside the game’s save folder (Windows: %APPDATA%\GuandanDazi; macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/GuandanDazi). Email it to [email protected] and we will delete the matching records.

7. Steam

Steam itself (purchases, achievements, cloud saves, online lobbies) is run by Valve under Valve’s privacy policy. Cloud saves synchronise your own save files through Steam; we do not receive them.

8. Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The records described above contain no contact information.

9. Changes

If what the game sends changes, we will update this page and the date above before the update ships.
